Poultry (Broiler chicken keeping). A program designed to empower impoverished communities especially Tukura Ras Al phil. Providing them with the knowledge, Skills, and resources to raise poultry (broiler chicken) for both personal and income generation, thereby improving their food security and financial stability, particularly in Tukura Ras Al phil where protein source is limited. This often involves training in basic poultry management practice.
Oil production initiative (Simsim, Gnut, Maize, Sun flower). This is a development initiative where oil production takes place. This initiative is to improve the living standard of the community in Tukura and beyond, providing direct economic benefits like; employment opportunity, infrastructure, healthcare access, market and community driven projects originating out of the oil production aiming to mitigate the negative impact of oil production.
Agro - Farming (Onion, Tomatoes, Ocra, Mangos, Bananas, Lemon/Oranges and Poupou). Generate income and improve livelihoods for the impoverished community of Tukura Ras Al Phil by providing access to training, resources and market linkage, enabling them to produce crops for sale, ultimately contributing to economic stability and reducing poverty level within the community
Goat keeping (Local breed) – goat and sheep. Regionally and nationally, goat and sheep contribute to supplying markets with food and non-food products with export and earning and import saving potential in the Republic of Chad. The use of a well rotted compost, linked with correct use of the pens restraining sheep and goats leads to better and quality product which earns the community hug amount of fortune. These can be achieved through training of farmers to enable manage their own livestock.
GFO was founded in response to the challenges faced by independent refugees from the Central African Republic who settled in Tukura during the 2004 crisis.
